This review reflects my own experience with my (no longer) new Kel-Tec PF-9 (Kel-Tec's Website is HERE), but I have also drawn on articles and reviews found on the internet in various places. The photos are my own, but you are welcome to borrow them, if you like. For more resources and some specific acknowledgements see the last paragraph of this article.
Kel-Tec has a lot of vocal fans, and they begged for a single-stack 9mm pistol for years. Finally, Kel-Tec heard their cries, and came through with the PF-9. I bought my first one in August 2007. Every now and then I trade for something else, but I always end up coming back to the PF-9. I bought number four in August of 2010. These days Kel-Tec sells the PF-9 in a nice cushioned black plastic box..

Kel-Tec announced impending production on their website, and on the KTOG forums on November 11, 2005--and made an official public announcement at the SHOT show in February of 2006. The Kel-Tec announcement read:
'The PF-9 is a semi-automatic, locked breech pistol, chambered for the 9 mm Luger cartridge. It has been developed from our highly successful P-11 and P-3AT pistols with maximum concealability in mind. Genetec video player 5.8. The PF-9 has a single stack magazine holding 7 rounds. It is the lightest and flattest 9 mm ever made. Firing mechanism is Double-Action Only with an automatic hammer block safety. The PF-9 accessory rail will accept the latest compact weapon lights and lasers.
'The PF-9 retains the best features from our P-11 and P-3AT pistols combined into the flattest and lightest single stack 9mm configuration ever made. The barrel, locking system, slide stop, assembly pin, front sight, recoil springs and guide rod are adapted from the P-11. The PF-9 is nearly identical to the P-11 in length and height and shares the same exterior controls. The shorter trigger system with integral hammer block and the extraction system are adapted from the P-3AT. Just like the P-11, the PF-9 will accept +P ammunition, however, not with continuous use.
'The rear sight is a new design and is adjustable for windage with the supplied allen wrench as well as for elevation with the use of shims (not included). The included 7 round rectangular magazine is supplied with a finger extension base plate and numbered holes. The under barrel accessory rail shares the dimensions of the MIL-STD-1913 picatinny rail although there is only one locking notch in the forward position.'

The PF-9 pistol is a good-looking gun, and comes with one 7 round magazine, a pinky finger extension base plate, and a gun lock (padlock). Extra magazines may be ordered directly from Kel-Tec for $21.85 each. I have two extra magazines.
According to a knowledgeable PF-9 owner, two weak points in the PF-9 design are the plastic magazine release and the magazine follower. The mag release may wear out quickly unless care is taken to hold in the mag release button while inserting the mag. Mag followers may wear on the front left corner if you allow the slide to lock back on an empty mag very often. The negative effect of that is that your pistol will not lock back the slide consistently after the last round in the mag is fired.
I have read that a good way to shoot your PF-9 at the range is to always leave one cartridge remaining in the magazine, which will preclude the slide locking back, and which will then preserve the plastic follower. 'Two Pistol Packer' on the KTOG Forum has created metal replacement parts that may wear better. Here is a link to his excellent instructions for disassembly, reassembly and replacement of various parts.
The original shipment date was supposed to be May of 2006, but it kept being postponed. Production did not start until September of 2006, and things got off to a rocky start with the new pistol.
The first 100 PF9s were mostly bought by the factory employees and distributors. George Kellgren (gun designer, chief engineer and owner of Kel-Tec) himself took the first 19 off the assembly line. PF-9s began to be released to the public in late September 2006.
The first run of PF-9s had many problems. (This is a summary of information presented by Two Pistol Packer on the KTOG Forums.)
1. Some early barrels had SHORT THROATS that would not chamber the longer 147 grain ammo. Here's a photo I found in a KTOG forum post by Kel-Tec fan 'Wilson,' showing the old and new PF-9 barrels..
2. Kel-Tec used the same screw for the sight as for the extractor. But when the screw was tightened during production this caused it to intrude into the hammer arc which caused hammer peening from hitting the screw, which caused hammer slide scoring, which caused additional wear to the hammer, which then caused more hammer slide scoring etc. etc. 3. There was a lot of fine brass dust created from the cartridges being shaved by the rough hammer slide. 4. The firing pin channel in the slide was too large, and allowed the firing pin to wobble around and strike the primer crookedly, resulting in failures to fire. The large hole also quickly attracted brass shavings. 5. The slide lock tab was too large, and rubbed against the bullet noses and piled up shavings. 6. Sometimes cartridges would feed oddly and lock open the breech, with the cartridge nose trapped under the slide stop tab. 7. First run PF-9s also had problems with the first 3 rounds in the magazine tending to nose dive into the feed ramp. 8. The magazine follower was a soft material and quickly developed a gouge caused by the last round flipping end for end and smacking its rim into the top of the follower. 9. One of the most beautiful features of the Audiomatic is its simplicity and ease of use. Getting that '˜Old School' feel takes no work whatsoever. Simply create the effect device like any other Reason effect and jump into it. Even though it's one of the most plug and play devices within Reason, don't let it fool you. The Transform, Dry/Wet, Volume and Gain play a much bigger role than you may think. And, those aren't even the main show on the Audiomatic!
The core feature of the Audiomatic are the 16 presets that are available to you right from the start. There are wonderfully sounding presets like Tape, Hi-Fi, and Bottom, for beefing up signals. And then there's the less utilitarian and more esoteric effects presets too, like PVC and Psyche and Eerie. All of these presets can be tweaked with the Transform knob. But, as I mentioned earlier, don't forget to play with the Gain, Volume and Dry/Wet knobs. The Gain in particular does a wonderful job of giving off a nice, analog style overdrive effect.
Best Usage
The Audiomatic Retro Transformer was actually intended for more than just tainting individual tracks, though it does do a wonderful job of this. Basses, Drums, Guitars, electric pianos and more will greatly benefit from this device. I even found Audiomatic to be a brilliant device for beefing up my bass synth patches. It adds a really warm bass undertone that I'm having a hard time living without now.

Furthermore, in addition to instruments and even parallel channel groups, the Audiomatic Retro Transformer is also intended for mastering final tracks. I'll happily report that it does a seriously good job of this. Tape, Hi-Fi and even Spread are wonderful for breathing some depth and nostalgic coolness to your tracks in a way that really wasn't easily available before in Reason. Seriously, you'd have to spend some serious time with Combinators to create even one of these presets with any accuracy.
Oh, and don't forget to try some CV modulation with the Transform function available on the back panel of Audiomatic. Presets like Eerie, Circuit and Cracked can be extremely interesting with a little modulation, or automation.

Morgan Wielgosz and Amber Sarraillon are the co-owners of The Good Neighbour, which opened for business last week.
Wielgosz and Sarraillon have more than 25 years of experience in the craft beer industry. They met while working together in Toronto, but both moved to Winnipeg a few years ago for work.
While Wielgosz is from Toronto and Sarraillon grew up in Stonewall, both said they feel a connection to Winnipeg and love how strong the sense of community is here.
Hence the name, The Good Neighbour.

'Never in our wildest dreams that we'd imagine that there would be this much support,' Wielgosz said.
Wielgosz and Sarraillon say the craft brewery business is a male-dominated field, but they're hoping their success can inspire women to follow in their footsteps.
Right now, they are brewing out of the Oxus Brewing Company location but are looking for a space of their own.

These files are from [Carolyn’s Creations], a reputable site in the Petz world. However, I haven’t tried them myself, and I can’t guarantee they’re safe for your computer. The second requires you to edit your registry. And there’s always the chance it’ll be even buggier on the new Windows than the CD version.
However, if you want to try downloading the Petz game, there are two options:

[Petz 5 CD Backup]: more involved install but sounds like the full game.
I might be able to help you do some troubleshooting if things aren’t working, but if it’s really buggy, you’re going to be on your own. Graphics issues are probably Petz 5 the game having issues, though, and not these specific installs. For that, I can help troubleshoot (try running as admin in compatibility mode first).
Honestly, I recommend buying the games instead. If you check [Amazon], you can regularly find used games for under $15 or $10 if you’re lucky. If they’re all overpriced, wait two weeks and check again. I don’t believe they’re being manufactured anymore, but the games go up for sale as people clean closets or whatever.
Q: Can Petz work on a Mac?
I have yet to hear of an example of Petz running on a Mac OS yet. The company never released a Mac version of Petz games because the market back then was mostly Windows for gaming. If you know what you’re doing, there are ways to run Windows programs on a Mac OS - primarily by partitioning your hard drive and installing Windows alongside Mac or by running some sort of virtual Windows client. Essentially, you simulate Windows and then run Windows programs. I’ve never done it and can’t help you much, but honestly, Petz is already buggy on modern Windows systems, so I suspect it would be extremely buggy being run on a Mac. That’s my dose of pessimism, but if you’re determined then knowing how to partition hard drives and such is a useful skill anyway, go forth and Google! (And feel free to drop me a line about any success.)
Q. Can you help me get Petz working on Windows? The graphics look really glitchy!
Glitchy graphics is a common issue on Windows 7 and possibly Vista as well. The first thing to try is to run it as admin in compatibility mode. If you right-click the icon you use to play the game, go to Properties at the bottom, then tab over to Compatibility. You can check a box to run it in compatibility mode for and then select Windows XP. If that one doesn’t work, try a few others around XP. Also try selecting the Run as an administrator option. (Windows will ask you about letting it change the hard drive when you run the program, just say yes it asks that for any program run in administrator mode.)
If it’s still not working and you fool around with a ton of options around there, I’d head to Google. You can ask me to try to help, but I’ll just be using Google (albeit with technical knowledge to filter results through).

Gameplay

The game features a fully destructible environment, which allows player to put themselves on pedestals, in tunnels, or bunkers, allowing for the probability of strategic play. Pocket Tanks supports weapon expansion packs, players can have up to 320 different weapons in total. Network play was made available in the v1.3 release.
Expansion packs
There are 'weapon packs' available which give the player more weapon choices during gameplay. However, these expansion packs are only available to those who own Pocket Tanks Deluxe. For the PC version, there are 30 Expansion Packs available to download on the web page. All packs that include 5 weapons are free, while those with 15 have to be purchased (mobile versions only). Development history[edit]
Michael P. Welch from Blitwise Productions created Amiga games before he started developing PC games such as Super DX-Ball and Neon Wars. Welch developed Pocket Tanks as remake/sequel of the Amiga game Scorched TanksThe abundance book free download pdf. and extended the game-play with modified physics, dozens of new weapons, and the ability to move the tank. The game's soundtrack was created by Eliran Ben Ishai as Impulse TrackerModule file.[1] The first version of Pocket Tanks was released in 2001.

A Collector's Edition of Pocket Tanks was released on November 16, 2007. It contains the first 14 expansion packs and the Deluxe version of Pocket Tanks. The CD and case comes with special art, and it is cheaper to buy the expansion packs through the Collector's Edition, but other than that there are no differences between the Deluxe and Collector's Edition.
Version 1.6 is currently the most recent desktop release and it includes more expansion packs to obtain. This version is available for MacOS and the Windows Desktop.
On October 26, 2001 the first version of pocket tanks was released after a beta. This version continued to be updated, adding features like network support and more weapons.
On June 1, 2008 pocket tanks became available for MacOS. (OS X)
On April 15, 2009 pocket tanks was released on iPhone. This version included a new touch interface and 35 weapons to enjoy for free. The iOS version continues to be updated along with other mobile versions that were released later.
On December 7, 2012, Pocket Tanks became available on the Android operating system.[2]

In April 2011, the Michigan chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union questioned whether Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers were using Cellebrite UFEDs to conduct unlawful searches of citizens' cell phones.[7] Following its refusal to grant the ACLU of Michigan's 2008 Freedom of Information Act request unless the organization paid $544,000 to retrieve the reports, MSP issued a statement claiming that it honored the Fourth Amendment in searching mobile devices.[8]
In March 2016, it was reported that Cellebrite offered to unlock an iPhone involved in the FBI–Apple encryption dispute.[9] Later, after the FBI announced it had successfully accessed the iPhone thanks to a third party. A press report claimed Cellebrite had assisted with unlocking the device,[10] which an FBI source denied.[11]
A 2017 data dump suggests Cellebrite sold its data extraction products to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Russia.[12]
On 16 September 2020, Haaretz reported how Cellebrite had provided Saudi Arabia with mobile phone hacking services. In some dark corner of the house, I found an old LeapPad2 that hadn't been used for years. Before sending it to Goodwill, I wanted to wipe any data off of it, but before I could get to that, I found a number of old photos on the it. The OEM software (LeapFrog Connect) would download some of them, but not all of them. Do we have any other options for saving these crude, blurry, sentimental photos and videos?!

I am not an expert in USB devices, nor embedded Linux, nor even Linux. This worked for me, and I'm writing it up in case it works for someone else, but if you try it and run into a problem, there is functionally no chance that I will be able to help you. Please proceed at your own caution.
Leappad 2 Free Downloads
The steps below involve putting your LeapPad2 into 'developer' mode. If you are unable to complete these steps, this may make the device impossible to use. (This was not the case for me, but I repeat the warning out of an abundance of caution.) Again, proceed at your own caution.
This was all done in early 2019, with a LeapPad2 Explorer and a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ running Raspbian Stretch 9.6. If your software or hardware are different than that, proceed at your own caution.
Background
Some searching turned up a number of resources, none of which were able to help me completely. Rather, I was able to piece together portions of each of them to get the job done. These are some of the resources that kept me moving forward:
I had hoped to be able to just noodle around with exotic block device formats, mount the device like a USB drive and copy the files directly, but .. no dice. Something about UBI formats on embedded Linux devices with USB mode switching. In the end, I was able to put the device into developer mode, which boots it with a USB networking interface and an FTP server, and I was able to use this to download the files I wanted.
Details
Power on your LeapPad, ssh to your pi and plug in your LeapPad to one of it's USB ports. Confirm it's recognized by running the usb-devices command, which should print an entry for the LeapPad. (Look for 'Vendor: LeapFrog' or something similar.)
Clone the OpenLFConnect repo: git clone https://github.com/jrspruitt/OpenLFConnect.git
cd OpenLFConnect
make sure SCSI generic utils are installed: sudo apt install sg3-utils (OpenLFConnect requires access to the sg_raw command.)
OpenLFConnect has not been maintained for ~5 years as I write this. In that time, some of the device management rules have changed for Linux, and the /dev/leapfrog device will not be automatically created for you. So.. create it manually: sudo ln -s /dev/sda /dev/leapfrog (My LeapPad connected as /dev/sda, check the output of usb-devices or lsusb to see where yours in parked.)
Ditto for making sure that the normal user can access the device: sudo chmod 666 /dev/sda (optional, you can also just run the following OpenLFConnect.py commands as root)
Start OpenLFConnect: ./OpenLFConnect.py
OK, now quit: exit (It will have created some default files for you.)
touch files/developer (We'll use this later, in step 15.)
OK, back in: ./OpenLFConnect.py

OK, now try usb-devices again. You should see that something has changed: instead of connecting as a usb-storage device, it will have connected as a networking device. (You'll see something about eth in the Driver section.)
List your network interfaces: ifconfig - you should see an eth0 and an eth1 entry (and possibly others). For me, eth0 was the built in interface on the Pi, and eth1 was new and exciting. You should see that it's bound to a 192.168.x.x address.
OK, heres another point of no return: in developer mode, the LeapPad will bind to a static IP of 192.168.0.111. In order to connect to the LeapPad, I had to reconfigure eth1 to bind to the 192.168.0.x subnet. (The terminology may be wrong here.) If you're already using 192.168.0.x via eth0 or wifi (wlan0), then PROCEED WITH CAUTION. I was fortunate and my wifi is on a subnet of 192.168.254.x, so I was able to set eth1 to 192.168.0.1 without issue. If you're already using 192.168.0.x, be careful and make sure you know what you're doing, lest you lose access to your Pi or other devices.
Anyway, assuming you're comfortable with it: sudo ifconfig eth1 192.168.0.1
Now FTP like it's '93: ftp 192.168.0.111 (username: root (yeah!), password: <none, blank, nada> (hell yeah!))
If all goes well, you should be in. Now you can ls and cd around. I was able to cd /LF/Bulk/Data/Local/All/Photos and then ls, then get each of the files via get lf_photo_000000.jpg. (Remember, old school ftp doesn't support wildcards. If you have a lot of files, you may want to find another client. I only had ~40, so it didn't seem worth it.)
Done? Don't forget ./Videos or art or sound files.
Double check your files. You have downloaded them from the LeapPad to the Pi, so you'll have to now get them to your regular computer. I used scp pi@pi:OpenLFConnect/*.jpg . from my laptop but you can do whatever you normally do to copy files from your Pi. Double check that they all look good and that you can view them all.
OK, now done? Great. Still in ftp, you will need to remove the 'developer' mode file we uploaded previously. Start with cd /flags then delete developer. If that doesn't work, you can try rm developer. For some reason, these didn't work ]]>

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There are no marks in the bore, cylinder or recoil shield that this pistol was ever fired outside the factory.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are a very few very light marks in the barrel and a light drag line in the cylinder. There are also several marks under the finish in the sideplate that appear to have neve r been polished out at the factory. The ejector rod, cylinder latch and hammer knurling are sharp but the sideplate shows signs of having been removed and replaced. The screw heads are sharp and the markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Near Mint condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lock-up is SOLID on all six chambers. The SA trigger breaks crisply and the DA trigger is smooth. We did not fire this handgun.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a blue factory cardboard box , cleaning accessories and paperwork. The box is blue with white lettering. One of the end flaps has a factory label listing the make, model, caliber and barrel length of this pistol. There is a pink label placed over the factory label which correctly describes the make model, finish, barrel length and serial number of this pistol. The box has a separate white cardboard liner folded to fit this pistol. The outside of the box shows surface loss at the corners, a few light handling marks and a small dent in the lid portion. The inside of the box is compressed slightly in the area of the cylinder. The box is in about Fine to Excellent condition. The cleaning accessories consist of a threaded aluminum cleaning rod with brass brush and cotton swab, along with a S&W key chain fob screwdriver, all still sealed in their original plastic sack. The paperwork consists of a Safety and Instruction Manual and an unused Purchaser Information Questionnaire, both in Excellent condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Smith and Wesson Model 581-3 Distinguished Service Magnum revolver, blued with a 4” barrel. This is basically the same gun as the Model 586 except with fixed vs. adjustable sights. It is built on S&W’s L frame with a full length barrel underlug. The revolver was made in 1988, which was both the year the 581-3 variant was introduced and the year the Model 581 was discontinued. The pistol is in about Excellent condition with about 99% of its original finish remaining. It has a drag line in the cylinder and a few light marks in the barrel. The grips are checkered walnut with nickel plated S&W medallions. They show no marks in their smooth areas and the checkering is sharp to the touch and without mars. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and the cylinder lockup is solid on all six chambers. The revolver comes in its original factory box with factory cleaning equipment and paperwork. This is a great looking revolver that looks as though it was taken out of the safe every once in a while and handled, but never shot – there are neither powder marks nor brass case marks on the cylinder or recoil shield. This gun is perfect for someone who collects S&W revolvers – a last year of production revolver in near mint condition with its factory box and accessories. if the collectors don’t pay enough attention, then someone is going to get a chance at a great looking L framed S&W revolver chambered in .357 Magnum that will be great for home protection and concealed carry. With its perfect bore and solid cylinder lockup, this revolver should last for a lifetime of shooting enjoyment.
